The next step on your rental application is to enter your housing history. This step involves sharing your current and past residences. Ensure that you provide accurate dates and information covering the specified number of past years as requested by the application requirements.
How to Add your Housing History
To get started, click the + Add Icon in your Housing History section.
How to Enter your Current Address
- Click the + Add Icon in your Current Address section. Only US-Based Addresses are accepted.
- Type in your Street Address. The field will automatically search Google. Select the correct address from the dropdown.
- Enter the Dates you resided at this address.
- Select the Housing Type.
- Enter your Monthly Rent.
- Check the box on “I can provide information about my landlord to confirm my housing situation” to add details about your current housing information and their contact information. Enter the contact information of your Landlord or Management Company:
- Name
- Landlord Email Address.
- Landlord Phone Number
- Answer the question Do they know you are leaving?.
I own my home
Select this choice if you own the house where you currently reside. Enter your mortgage company in the field Who is your Loan With?.
I am renting
Select this choice if you rented the house you resided in.
Staying with friends or family
You’ll need to provide a reason why you were staying with friends and family.
How to Enter your Previous Address
- To get started, click the + Add Icon in your Previous Address section.
- Enter your Street Address by typing in your street number and name. Select the Google address from the dropdown.
- Enter the Dates that you lived at this address.
- Housing Type
- Enter your Monthly Rent
- Check the box on “I can provide information about my landlord to confirm my housing situation” to add details about your current housing information and their contact information.
- Enter the contact information of your Landlord or Management Company.
- Name
- Landlord Email Address.
- Landlord Phone Number
- Answer the question Do they know you are leaving?.
I own my home
Select this choice if you owned the house you resided in. Enter your mortgage company in the field Who is your Loan With?
I am renting
Select this choice if you rented the house you resided in.
Staying with friends or family
Select this choice if you have been staying with friends or family. Explain your housing status in the field provided.
How to Answer Additional Questions
After you submit your Housing History, your rental application may have additional questions that you’re required to answer. If you have Section 8, you’ll enter those details after this step.
How to Update your Housing History
Once you complete your Housing History, you can update your information at any time.
To Update your Housing History, choose Update in the Housing History section. This option appears only after you have completely entered your current and previous address.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why isn’t it accepting my address?
Addresses are located using Google Maps and need to match what is listed in the database. If your address is not accepted, confirm that it is a US Address and accurately matches in Google Maps.
