One of the application steps is to verify your identity. It’s important that you provide accurate information in order to be approved.
What is Identity Verification?
In an effort to expedite the application process, you’ll verify your identity with instant ID verification.
To complete this step, you’ll:
- Take a photo of your government-issued ID
- Record a video selfie of yourself to match with your ID
After submitting your photo and selfie, your identity will be instantly matched to ensure you are who you say you are. It lets the property management team know that you have the correct identification to proceed with the application.
How to Prepare for the Identification Process
Before you begin the identity verification process, you’ll need a government issued ID and a working camera on your laptop or mobile device.
You may use the following current and valid government-issued IDs:
- Driver’s License
- State ID
- Passport
- Passport Card
- Permanent Resident Card
- Employment Authorization Card
Please note that the following will not be accepted:
- An expired ID
- Non-US ID (driver's license, ID Card)
- Non-government-issued US ID (school ID, bank card, company badge, etc.)
- Social Security card
- Temporary paper Driver’s License or State ID
- Any photocopies, electronic replicas, or screenshots
How to Complete the ID Verification Process
ID Verification is the third step in the application process.

- After clicking Add for Identity Verification, you will be prompted to go through the ID Verification process. You’ll first see a landing page with details about the identity verification process.

- Select which country your ID is from. Then, select the government-issued ID you will be using during the verification process.


- Take a live photo of the front and the back of your ID (depending on the ID type). If your are starting the application on a computer or device that does not have a camera, you can continue this portion of the process on another device as well.

- After capturing your ID, you will be prompted to record a live video of yourself. You have the option to continue on another device. Center your face in the frame and move your head from side to side. Once the video is captured, the verification process is complete and results are sent to the property management company.
Example Process for Driver’s License


- To take a picture of your ID, click on the purple bar with a camera on it. If you are on a computer, the system will prompt you to access your camera on your monitor. If you are on a table or mobile device, you will receive similar instructions to enable your camera.
(If the device you are using does not have a camera, you can also click on the “Continue on another device” button to take the photos on your phone or another device.)
- Follow the prompts and align your ID Card with the guides on your screen. Click on the purple bar with a camera on it to capture your ID image once it fits within the frame. As soon as it fits within the frame, the camera will automatically capture the ID.

- Now it’s time to take a Selfie! Click Get Started to begin taking a picture of yourself for verification. This will be a Live image captured with the device you are using to fill out your application. If you are on a computer, the system will prompt you to access your camera. If you are on a table or mobile device, you will also receive instructions to enable your camera. The messages at the top of the circle will prompt you if you are too close or too far way.

- Once you’ve submitted your identification, you’ll receive a confirmation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use an image of my ID instead of taking a picture of the physical ID?
It depends on your property management company’s application terms and policy. If available, the option to upload an image of your ID will be linked at the bottom of the ID verification.

How do I log back into my application?
Follow the link provided in your email notification to access the portal login for your application. Remember the password you used when you first logged in.
