Overview of the experience and registration process for residents using the Aptly Resident App

This article provides an overview of the experience and registration process for residents using the Resident App.


Accepting the Invite

  1. Access your inbox
    1. Make sure you can access the inbox where the invite was sent on your mobile phone.

  1. Locate your invitation email
    1. You’ll receive an email that looks like this:

  1. Download the Resident App
    1. Before clicking anything else, download the Resident App using the provided links (iOS or Android).

  1. Accept the invitation
    1. Once the app has been downloaded, go back to the email and click “Accept Invitation.”

      It will then prompt you to open the Resident App.

  1. Log in or create an account
    1. When the app opens, you’ll see a screen prompting you to log in or sign up.

  1. Choose your login method
    1. You can sign in using one of the following options:

      • Microsoft
      • Google
      • Apple ID
  1. Create your account
    1. Once signed in, you’ll see the registration page. Enter your details to complete account setup.

      Remember to include +1 before your phone number.

  1. Enter your verification code
    1. You’ll receive an OTP (One-Time Password) via text message. Enter it in the 2FA field to verify your account.

  1. You’re all set!
    1. After entering the 2FA code, your registration is complete and you can begin using the app.


If You Did Not Click “Accept Invitation”

If you didn’t accept the invitation before installing the app, you’ll be prompted to manually enter your invite code.

This code is included in your original invite email.


Tips & Troubleshooting

💡 Common Setup Issues

  • Didn’t receive the invite email?
    • Check your spam or junk folder, or ask your Property Manager to resend the invite.

  • Clicked “Accept Invitation” too early?
    • No problem—just make sure the app is downloaded, then return to the email and click “Accept Invitation” again.

  • Invalid or expired invite code?
    • Contact your Property Manager to request a new invite link.

  • Didn’t get the OTP (One-Time Password)?
    • Double-check your phone number includes the +1 country code. You can also request the OTP to be resent.

  • App not opening after clicking the invite?
    • Make sure you’re opening the invite on the same mobile device where the app is installed.
